Where does my passion come from?
I love life and enjoy everything it has to offer, together with my family or friends.

Healthy, tasty food has always played a major role in my life. My mother was a great cook and memories from my childhood often involve enjoying a delicious, freshly prepared meal together. That has always been a priority in my family too.
Twelve years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent the whole series of treatments: chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy. For me it was self-evident that an optimal diet and lifestyle could support my body, both during the treatment and afterwards to regain my energy and zest for life. Throughout the entire process I was taken care of by wonderful doctors and nurses, but any advice on how diet and lifestyle could support my recovery was completely lacking.

The seed of a new passion was planted. First I did my own research and became more and more curious, and when a doctor friend talked to me about lifestyle medicine and cPNI (clinical Psycho Neuro Immunology), I was sold.
I started studying with great enthusiasm (Orthomolecular Therapy, Lifestyle Coaching, clinical Psycho Neuro Immunology and various shorter specialised trainings) and haven't stopped since.
As a health therapist with this background, I am determined to contribute to greater awareness of the role of nutrition and lifestyle in health and general well-being.

The science surrounding the various biochemical processes in the body and how they are influenced is constantly evolving and not a day goes by without new scientific insights emerging. If you want to keep up, you have to constantly learn and that is what makes my job so much fun.

And, perhaps also nice to know... I originally followed a scientific education and graduated as a materials engineer (KU Leuven - 1991). I am also fluent in English, Dutch, French and German.
