About Anne
Anne Goossens.
Clincal Psycho-Neuro-Immunology (kPNI) practitioner
MSc Clinical Psycho-Neuro-Immunology (University of Salamanca)

I am a clinical Psycho-Neuro-Immunology (kPNI) practitioner and I support people with persistent or recurring health complaints in understanding what is happening in their body and what they can realistically change themselves.
These are often complaints that do not sufficiently improve despite medical tests or treatments — such as fatigue, digestive problems, hormonal complaints, pain, or recurring inflammation.

In my guidance, we do not only look at the symptom itself, but mainly at the underlying connections. The body functions as a whole: the immune system, nervous system, hormones and metabolism continuously influence each other and are affected by nutrition, lifestyle, stress and life context.

My role is not simply to fight symptoms, but to understand together why they persist — and from there identify targeted and feasible that support the body’s self-regulating capacity.

Step by step, this creates more insight, more clarity and renewed influence over your health.

Why I do this work
My interest in health and healing did not arise from study alone, but also from personal experience.
During my treatment for breast cancer, I received professional and necessary medical care — yet one question remained largely unanswered:

“What can I do myself to help my body recover?”

I followed the treatments, but I often felt like a patient — someone things were done to, rather than someone involved in their own recovery. That experience led me to search for an approach in which illness is not only treated, but also understood.

This is how I encountered clinical Psycho-Neuro-Immunology (kPNI).

kPNI describes how the immune system, nervous system, hormones and metabolism continuously interact and respond to nutrition, lifestyle, stress and life context. For the first time, I gained a coherent biological understanding of what happens in a body under prolonged strain.

But even more importantly: understanding creates possibilities for action.

When the underlying mechanisms become clear, recovery is no longer something passive you must simply wait for. You begin to recognise the signals your body is giving and learn how you can support it.

This is the basis of how I work today.

My work complements regular medical care. Medical treatment remains essential when needed. My focus is different: together we explore why complaints persist and how you can gradually regain influence over your health.

My goal is therefore not only symptom relief, but helping you regain a sense of control — so that you can understand your body again and actively support your recovery.

You may recognise yourself in this, but still wonder whether this is right for you.
An introductory conversation is simply meant to look at your situation together and see whether my approach fits what you need.

I continuously participate in postgraduate education and am affiliated with professional organisations that require ongoing training and supervision. This helps ensure that my guidance remains aligned with current scientific insights.

Originally, I was trained as a materials engineer (KU Leuven, 1991). This scientific background still strongly influences my way of working: analytical, critical, and focused on understanding underlying mechanisms rather than only addressing symptoms.
